WOMM Launches Wednesday Walk & Talks

| News

Greetings Wild Ones Midcoast Maine members, subscribers, and regional supporters.

We are so glad to be building a community of invested and engaged Native Plant enthusiasts.
Your membership commitment is greatly appreciated.

The board and I would like to offer members this special opportunity to meet on a weekly basis throughout the summer to learn, grow, and enjoy our time together.

We have planned four (4) consecutive Wednesday events from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM and welcome your input for future Wednesday activities yet to be planned.

You are invited to join the first of four scheduled weekly Wednesday Walks & Talks
1) June 21, 2023 – private garden in Rockport
2) June 28, 2023 – Three Bird Farm, 329 Cedar Street, Rockland
3) July 5, 2023 – Coastal Mountains Land Trust CMLT property, Camden
4) July 12, 2023 – Merryspring Nature Center, Camden

The first event on June 21st will be hosted by me, Lynn Rutter, president WOMM, at my home. My gardens are a mix of:
– a crazy kid place to play (I operate Roots n Shoots Nature-Based After School Care);
– an edible landscape;
– backyard habitat; and
– pollinator gardens with native plants

Some areas of interest during our visit may include:

Water Barrel Irrigation
Vernal Pool
Brush Piles
Composting
Gardening on Rock
Rain Gardens
Invasives Eradication
Native Plant ID
Walk the Nature Trail
Backyard Certifications

My gardens always need weeding and plants may not thriving as I would like them to be, but I look forward to sharing about my native plant journey here, and our gardening challenges and successes as we embark together.

For the June 21 WW&T, please RSVP to Lynn: 603-479-1731
