On Saturday, February 25, our founding co-president Cayla Mäki-Pittman joined a leader from Wild Seed Project to share stories about native plants from their lives.
About these two storytellers:

Cayla Mäki-Pittman is the Founding Co-President of Wild Ones Midcoast Maine, Maine’s first Wild Ones chapter. She is a Master Gardener and owner of Harmless Gardens, Midcoast Maine’s only ecological garden design firm specializing in ecological gardening with native plants. She is also an organizer of the recent Inaugural Camden Native Plant Sale, which was a first for the community, a member of the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA), a member of the Ecological Landscape Alliance, and a board member of the Camden Garden Club of Maine.

Nell Houde is a lifelong world-observer and place-steward working as an environmental and outdoor educator in Maine, who currently works as the lead on educational programs for Wild Seed Project. She explores her love of sensory-based learning strategies as both a learner and an educator, and is fed by the process of asking questions about the intersection of land and community.
